The Recipient of the 2019 ALMF Scholarship - Grace Jean
After much deliberation the Board of the ALMF was pleased to announce local act, Grace Jean as the Recipient of the 2019 ALMF Scholarship. Fiona and Ailsa received $3000, a day's recording with Brian Baker at The Bakery, assistance from Board Members and other local community minded musicians and a lovely trophy. The 2018 Scholarship Recipient, Deborah Helen Wright, was on hand to deliver a round up of her career highlights for the year and how the Scholarship has helped her achieve some of her goals. We wish Grace Jean all the best and hope that the 2019 Scholarship really gives them a "Legg" up on their career!
The ALMF were also in the fortunate position to offer Ethan Farmer a $1000 encouragement award. Ethan used the grant to help him record his first EP "Excuse Me" which is available now.
The Alex Legg Memorial Foundation was established in 2015 to honour the legacy of songsmith and troubadour Alex Legg (1952-2014). The Foundation seeks to further Alex's vision for mentoring emerging musical talent and preserving the memory of scores of Leggsongs.
The Foundation provides an Annual Scholarship of $3000 plus recording time and support to a lucky applicant. See ALMF Scholarship Submission Form in the menu above.
